Refinancing your home can be as exciting as buying or selling a home but the closing process is a bit different. Landmark Title Group will work with you and your lender to create a transaction with the same efficiency and ease you would expect from every transaction. You may call your lender or Landmark Title Group with any questions that you have throughout the process.



How to Prepare for a Refinance


​ - Your lender or Landmark may request additional information regarding existing lien payoffs or specific requirements. Please have loan
account information available as well as the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number in case this information is requested.

- Once the final settlement statement has been prepared, we will contact you to let you know if any funds are required from you at closing. You
will need to bring that amount in certified funds (cashier's check) to your closing.


What to expect at closing


At the beginning of the closing, the closer will make a copy of your valid picture ID. 


The closer will review with you the settlement sheet and will answer any questions. All mortgage/loan and real estate documents are reviewed for accuracy and are signed.  


Federal law states that, if you choose to do so, you must cancel the transaction within 3 days after the closing so no disbursements are made until after that 3 day "Right of Rescission" period has passed.  


You may receive your signed closing documents via email or copies can be made for you at closing.  



WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER CLOSING


After the closing, Landmark Title Group will immediately record the Mortgage and any other pertinent documents with the Parish Clerk's office and send you a copy of the recorded documents for your records.
